Daniel writes about the environment, Judaism, rural life, gentrification, and grief, and his work has appeared or is forthcoming in literary journals and magazines like Iowa Review, Swamp Pink, Poetry Northwest, Gulf Coast, and Cutbank, among many others.

He's the co-founder and co-editor of Outskirts Literary He served as the 2025 to 2026 Ronald Wallace Poetry Fellow at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and is a current Wallace Stegner Fellow at Stanford University.
