The Hughleys

[laughs]

Uh, I mean, you, you wrote, starred, and directed in, in The Hughleys.

Yes.

I'm sure that that is a source of great pride for you just for years.

And we are back with Here's the Scoop from NBC News.

So you might know actor and comedian D.L. Hughley from his role in the sitcom The Hughleys or as one of the big four comedians on the original Kings of Comedy.

Maybe you go way back and you remember him as the original host of BET's Comic View back in the 90s.

Well, D.L. has a new book out and it's called Charlie's Boy.

Hey, man.

In addition to a successful stand-up career, D.L. is also the creator and star of the '90s sitcom hit, The Hughleys, and longtime host of that hit radio show.

Thank you, man.

He's done so much, so much.

Oh, they...

The Parkers might be heading over here 'cause "The Eve Show" on here, "Bernie Mac," "Steve Harvey Show," "Everybody Hates Chris," "Love That Neighbor," "Good, Good Times," "The Hughleys."

They haven't said The Hughleys.

Like I, I was sold with The Hughleys.

[laughs]

The Hughleys is crazy.

[laughs]

Nigga saying bangers, they said The Hughleys, nigga.

I mean, D.L. Hughley has made some...

Hughley or Hughley? Hughley, right? The TV show is called The Hughleys, so it's got to be Hughley.

Yeah.

He has had some bad takes over the years.

And what did you make as two producers?

Our first show that we put on ABC, thanks to the late, great Jamie Tarses, was a wonderful show called The Hughleys with, starring D.L. Hughley, which was kind of a breakthrough 'cause it was a show starring a Black lead.

It was a Black- ... comedy.

That was our first show.
