The Hoosiers

I see like a 70-3 type game, if we're being honest.

So take the Hoosiers.

I think they cover this, and I think they cover it somewhat easily.

So looking forward to that, just seeing what Josh Hoover and the boys can do.

The Hoosiers were pretty bad.

Were they indie? Yeah.

Really? I think anyone wearing a waistcoat.

It's a massive university town.

So rocked up to see the Hoosiers, supported by, would you believe, The Script, who are also just starting out.

So I know The Hoosiers.

Not personally.

I've heard of them.

I'm going to play English Boys With Guns from their final album, English Boys Working Girls.

After that, a track from The Hoosiers, another great band that never quite achieved the success they truly deserved.

Despite their name, which is local slang for anyone who originates in the US state of Indiana, The Hoosiers are British.

But band members Irwin Sparks and Alfonso Charland happened to meet while they were both on a very unlikely international American football scholarship at the University of Indiana.

They burst into the music business in 2007 with the album The Trick to Life, led by two very successful singles, Worried About Ray and Goodbye Mr.

A, both of which I've played on past shows.

A second album was woefully underpromoted by their record label, and the resulting fallout led to the Hoosiers taking back control of their careers as an independent act.

They have released four subsequent albums, most recently earlier this year.
