The Holy

Thus, it is not said of him, the exalted, مَاهِد, or زَرِع, or فَالِق, meaning the one who spreads, or the planter, or the splitter, or the like.

It is also impermissible to name any other being with the names that belong exclusively to him, the exalted, such as Allah, or Ar-Rahman, or Al-Ghaffar, or Al-Malik, or Al-Samad, or Al-Muta'ali, or Al-Subuh, Al-Quddus, Al-Ilah, and Al-Ma'bud.

Meaning here, Allah, of course, Al-Rahman, often translated as the most merciful, the ever forgiving, the sovereign, the eternal refuge, the most high, the all glorified, the most holy, the deity, the one worshiped.

Those are all translations of those names of Allah .

And while his names, the names and attributes are stable titles of pure perfection used in worship, in prayer and in supplication.

He goes on and he says, it's also impermissible to name any other being with the names that belong exclusively to him.

the exalted, such as Allah, Ar-Rahman, Al-Ghaffar, Al-Malik, Al-Samad, Al-Mutta'ali, Al-Subuh, Al-Quddus, Al-Ilah, and Al-Ma'bud.

So again, the most merciful, the ever forgiving, the sovereign, the eternal refuge, the most high, the all glorified, the most holy, the deity, the one worshiped.

Al-Quddus is the holy one, one who is free from all flaws, a blessed being in whom all blessings are amassed.

Santification of such a being is to declare him pure and flawless.

Al-Quddus is the composite of all purity, not merely free from flaws, but also comprising of all excellences, which are known and unknown to human perception.

Allah is Quddus, and His nearness cannot be availed unless one is pure.

There are pure people who extol Allah's holiness much more than the angels do.

Where do these come from? Right and the wood maybe came from the trees the metal came from metal that was underground And the plastic is from different petrochemicals that were put together And maybe the ink came from some ink comes from plants that are then meshed together and powderized etc, etc So it's like so each and every component from of this pen comes from the earth that allah blessed us with Let alone the intellect that was put into the process of making and designing this pen that comes from us How do we see the pen? How do we recognize it? How do we you know kind of Figure out its use.

How do we who gave us all that? So it's all from Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala, right? And so everything other than he subhanahu wa ta'ala is subject to him in its essence and its attributes While he subhanahu wa ta'ala is independent of everything and that is what it is to be king absolutely al-malik And then we touched upon Al-Quddus, and we touched on this quote by Al-Ghazali, also in his book 99 Beautiful Names of Allah.

Al-Quddus is the one who is free from every attribute which a sense might perceive or imagination may conceive, or to which imagination may instinctively turn to, or by which the conscience may be moved.

or which thinking demands so basically he's saying that sometimes when we think of the attributes of Allah we try to visualize it in our minds and he says basically Allah is free of that visualization that imagination that you kind of put in place instinctively or you're trying to conceive of it or your conscience of it all of that Allah is free of it he says I do not say that Allah is free from defects or imperfections for simply mentioning that borders on insult So he's saying it's bad form to say that Allah is free of defect, that Allah is perfect.

It's bad form to say that.

And in his book, he touches on this idea, this concept.

Why does Allah command us to worship him? So here he's saying, Allah transcends beyond these faults and these qualities that exist in human beings.

So on this basis, he's saying, the name As-Salaam has the meaning of Al-Quddus.

That's the difference between the two.

And also Allah Azza wa Jal's Malik could also be combined with Al-Quddus, which means that the power of Allah or the kingship of Allah Azza wa Jal is free from shortcomings, free from sins.

It's complete.

Nothing, nothing is beyond his power.
