The Great Kabuki

Houston continued drawing major crowds during the mid-1980s, including a reported 10,000 at Sam Houston Coliseum on December 27th, 1984, at a time when the WWF was already attempting to penetrate Texas.

The great Texas villains would include, in this 10-year period, uh, Michael Hayes, Terry Gordy, Buddy Roberts, Gino Hernandez, Gentleman Chris Adams, Bruiser Brody, Gary Hart, The Great Kabuki, Jimmy Garvin, Killer Tim Brooks, Bob Sweetan, Dick Slater, King Kong Bundy, Kamala, The Missing Link, and Killer Khan.

But if I had to identify the four most important villains of that 10-year period in Dallas, I'd probably say it was Michael Hayes, Gino Hernandez, Chris Adams, and Bruiser Brody.

They represented four completely different types of opposition to the Von Erich family.

Uh, his partnership with Gino Hernandez created the Dynamic Duo, one of the most heel teams in Texas wrestling history.

Jimmy Garvin and Precious became major attractions.

The Great Kabuki with Gary Hart became a completely different visual and wrestling identity.

Bruiser Brody-

There are three variants: red pants, purple pants, black pants, all with interchangeable heads so that it could blow mist.

The Great Kabuki.

Another person-

Kabuki

mean, when we got there, I knew who Kerry was because Kerry was in the, I mean, Kerry and Flair was what they were focusing on television.

But like when David Von Erich and Kevin Von Erich got in the ring against Kabuki and the dragon, my brother had to tell me which one was David and which one was Kevin.

So, I mean, I, I just hadn't, I didn't know.

And so I didn't know who Harley race was, but I came to appreciate him.

Yeah.

Yeah.

I mean, Kerry got his rematch with Flair after Kabuki.

Because Flair put a bounty on Kerry Von Erich.

That would be awesome.

And then for his O-Ring Heroes, the Great Kabuki.

Very cool.

And then Kayfabe Legacy, uh, the Great Kabuki.

What's that?

What's the...

legacy logo looks so familiar and i just can't place it it looks it looks amazing what are you talking about

Kevin Varnack defeats Mike Bond, Mike Sharp defeats Yoshiyaki Yatsu, Mr. Wrestling 2 defeats Hiro Matsuda.

Kamala and the Great Kabuki defeat Buddy Landell and Tim Horner.

Jim Duggan defeats Bruno San Martino Jr. Trevor Guerrero defeats Gino Hernandez.

Memphis today.

Let's get into the good talk.

So first things first, Great Kabuki is sticking with KWK and is going to be getting a legacy figure.

Also O-Ring.

Again, O-Ring too?

O-Ring, Yoshitatsu versus Great Kabuki.

Like a two-pack?

We haven't decided yet, but potentially.

Because he got fucked.

How amazing would that be? But it looks like Chono has signed with NWO Japan.

And the Great Kabuki back for another round with KWK.

Can't wait to see those one in more of the LJN style.

I think that'll be amazing, especially with the mist effect.
