The Golden Palace

Yeah.

You went on to write for the Golden Palace, which was the spinoff of the Golden Girls, which truly I have seen every episode.

And I think it is just as funny.

My dad and I used to watch that show all the time.

Eisner really needed a hit television show to make Disney a player again, and Susan delivered.

But then, if you think about it, how many spinoffs from, you know, Golden Girls were they? Golden Palace, Empty Nest, Nurses.

And think about how

much merchandise is still sold today, Golden Girls-wise.

I don't know when it did, but The Golden Bachelor did.

And then so did a show called The Golden Palace.

I so wanted to use both of those.

But congratulations, you got them all right.

Absolutely.

Golden Palace had just been canceled, I think, when this came out.

Oddly enough, this was on CBS.

So it would have been, Rue probably was pissed at CBS.

What I was thinking about this, and it was one moment I did one my very, very first television jobs.

I was on a show called Golden Palace, which was the spinoff of Golden Girls, which was all the-

I didn't know that.

Yeah.

I finished up Golden Girls.

I got a couple episodes left of Golden Palace to finish up.

And then got into The Wire and man...

I had not watched this show in at least 15 years, probably longer, even though I kind of touted it as one of my favorites.

It's so incredible, dude.

I love this show.

Golden Palace.

I did.
