The Golden Goose

Woo!

This story is a story by the Brothers Grimm, and it is called The Golden Goose.

[upbeat music] Once upon a time, there was a king.

This king had a daughter so stone-cold serious she never, ever laughed.

Now, Dreamy didn't care for gold all that much, but he was very interested in this goose.

He picked it up, looked at it, and started wondering how a living thing could have feathers of gold.

He thanked the old, gray dwarf, forgot all about gathering wood, and started for home with the golden goose under his arm.

[water sloshing] But by now the sun was setting and it was too dark to find the path home.

The youngest was called Ummerly, and was on all occasions scorned and ill-treated by the whole family.

It happened that the eldest took it into his head one day to go into the forest to cut wood, and his mother gave him a delicious meat pie and a bottle of wine to take with him, that he might sustain himself at his work.
