The Gilded Age

I've actually seen most of these shows.

So the nominees for Best Drama Series are The Diplomat, The Gilded Age, A Night of the Seven Kingdoms, Paradise, The Pit, Pluribus, Slow Horses, and Your Friends and Neighbors.

So the only two shows I haven't seen of these are The Pit and Your Friends and Neighbors.

um karen what is your uh prediction to win best drama series

okay so here's what's so funny as much as i've seen all the comedies i have not seen the diplomat or the gilded age and i'm not caught up on slow horses or your friends and neighbors

I think you would love, I would love to see her act in the diplomat.

The diplomat is like maybe my favorite Netflix show.

Heck, let's do outstanding lead actress in a drama series, shall we? Yeah.

We're just going to go through the main categories here in terms of the genre and acting categories.

Outstanding Drama Series, of course, their field is The Diplomat, The Gilded Age, The Night of the Seven Kingdoms, The Pit, Pluribus, Slow Horses, and Your Friends and Neighbors.

I think this is going to be The Pit Season 2, obviously the most nominated show of the Emmys this year.

The Emmys, historically, most recently, you know, the 2020s, let's say, even with the late 2010s, they like to give a small amount of shows a lot of nominations.

A drama actress, of course, does not have a contender from The Pit, which makes it at least a little bit more interesting.

You have Ray Sehorne here for Pluribus, Keri Russell for The Diplomat.

carrie coon for the gilded age zendaya for euphoria season 3 and chase infinity for the testaments feels like this is going to be ray seahorn for pluribus probably the biggest award that pluribus will end up winning maybe also get some writing love as well that is a great way to honor that first season especially if the pit's gonna ultimately trump pluribus in you know the series category ray seahorn belatedly very lately getting love for better call Saul this is basically like the make do I would say and very justly earned I guess that there's one to consider as a spoiler I think it's probably Keri Russell for the diplomat you know um I love Zendaya in Euphoria, but obviously Euphoria basically got blanked everywhere else.

Can't really predict that.

And she said she's been, you know, now on White Lotus and all this big stuff.

To this day, she's still most recognized for The Leftovers.

No, that's a, yes, that's a great, so to go into New York and then we'll go into the Met.

So if, I mean, if anybody's seen the period pieces of New York, like Gilded Age and these other things, you know this basic storyline that, you know, New York back then was this place of enormous wealth and poverty, and these two worlds are living right on top of each other.

So, you know, uptown you have the philanthropists, the newspapers, the Macy's that are now these kind of big new department stores with window shopping as a new thing, their grand chandeliers, you have these, you have these castles on Fifth Avenue.

It always strikes me just walking in New York City now when you think of all the restaurants and department stores and all these apartments that take up one block.

So Widow's Bay would win, shall wi- shall win, should win in for comedy.

For drama, The Diplomat, The Gilded Age, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, Paradise, The Pit, Pluribus, Slow Horses-

I would say there, there are three, and I, full disclosure, I, I have not watched The Diplomat season two or The Gilded Age seasons any, but um, I think that there are three stronger candidates here Uh, that I could get behind.

I think you can make the case for Knight of the Seven Kingdoms because it was so deeply surprising and just so absolutely wonderfully made.

Others inherited a family firm that built upon the success of prior generations.

Pop culture portrays the rich as an elite few, akin to the Rockefellers and Carnegies of the Gilded Age.

But rich private business owners are now so plentiful that we're living in America's first age of millionaires.

You probably know an everywhere millionaire, even if you don't realize it.

Oh, God, no.

For outstanding lead actress in a drama series, we have Carrie Coon for The Gilded Age.

I've not seen it, but I love Carrie Coon.
