The Getaway

That seems to be a common thing as well, of these guys who are changing times, but also we're not meeting them at their peak, we're meeting them on the downward slide kind of thing.

Even in The Getaway, which plays a lot more, this is the next collaboration with Queen, Peckinpah, you know, which is amazing.

They kind of pull it back together to work together again so quickly and, you know, to a lot greater success at the box office.

But, you know, McQueen starts the movie, you know, just released in prison and there's a quite extended sequence where he's like trying to get the courage up to, like, have sex with Ali McGraw, like, you know, it's not something a lot of people would have a lot of trouble with, but it's, you know, they basically, you know, do go to great pains to sort of show how kind of nervous he is, and, you know, this is the great Steve McQueen, like, you know, he needs a drink, needs a bit of time, like, you know, she's like, I've got, you can have time, and it's really gently kind of, like, explored that, you know, he's kind of concerned, it's a level of spirality, like, and, you know, that sort of that sort of level of interest in that character doesn't sustain for the movie, but it's like even that very kind of like more studio friendly piece, like he's still looking at that kind of aspect.
