A new investigation finds little improvement for people cleared out of homeless camps a year ago in Tulsa and Oklahoma City.

The Frontier reports, despite the state spending nearly a million dollars for Governor Stitt's operations safe, some of the areas have repopulated.

Tulsa Day Center CEO Mac Haltom echoes others working with the unhoused and saying nothing was solved by the governor's actions.

There was nothing solved about homelessness.

Governor Stitt's office told the Frontier Operation Safe wasn't about solving homelessness, but instead about keeping state property safe and clean and puts the blame on local officials.

But Haltom says because of the quick, unannounced nature of the sweeps, Tulsa was handcuffed.
