He wrote The Flight Attendant.

So many great books.

We had him on our radio show many times.

We have Rosie Perez as Renee Montoya.

She was Gloria Comente in White Men Can't Jump and Megan Briscoe on The Flight Attendant.

Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Helena Bertinelli, a.k.a.

The Huntress.

And if you don't know, typically the creators of TV shows are the showrunners and they're the main writer, the head writer of the show, as opposed to movies where the director is really the owner of the show, if that makes sense.

So when we're talking about the creator of a show, They're writers, and she has written episodes of Death and Other Details, The Flight Attendant, which is the Kaley Cuoco show, and Stumpton.

I guess I say it, but nothing like no huge, huge names.

Obviously those are big accomplishments, but I thought it was cool to know that this was her first show that she's made.

Steve Yockey is a Los Angeles-based playwright and screenwriter from Atlanta.

He's authored more than a dozen plays, including Pluto, Mercury, Ball Weather, and Sleeping Giant, which was recently produced in D.C. at Steve earned Emmy and Golden Globe nominations for his work as the creator and showrunner of The Flight Attendant on HBO Max.

And more recently, he was co-executive producer on Supernatural and the creator and showrunner of Dead Boy Detectives on Netflix.

Steve, thanks so much for being here and agreeing to chat.

Obviously, when there's an audience in the room, you can tell whether something's getting a laugh.

Is it trickier in TV and film to tell, is my comedy working? I

think sometimes you have someone like the flight attendant, obviously, Kaley Cuoco, who has a Hepburn level of physical comedy that she has access to.

When you hear the crew laughing when she's doing something in an emotional scene and she has a comic beat in the middle of an emotional scene, then you kind of know it's working.
