The First Academy

matchup.

The First Academy travels outside the state to Huntersville, North Carolina to play Ambassador Christian there.

Jones is home to take on Lake Region.

Seminole remains undefeated in the season.

Miami Central, Class 3A.

The First Academy, Class 2A.

So another one.

And then Armwood, Class 5A.

Play ball.

[crowd cheering] It was Drew Rasmussen against an Orlando boy, Foster Griffin, out of First Academy.

Rasmussen got a strikeout of his former college teammate, Stephen Kwan, to lead off the game, but then gave up a single to José Ramírez.

He tried stealing second, but Nick Fortes threw him out.

The Guardians pretty much emptied the tank to get to face the Rays, so his lack of postseason experience in this case is a feature, not a bug.

Oh, and he went to First Academy in Orlando.

He was a first-round draft pick in 2014 by Kansas City, 28th overall, made his Major League debut in 2020, didn't pitch in the big leagues again until 2022, got traded to Toronto, and then didn't pitch again in the majors until 2026 with Washington, and then came over to Cleveland at the trade deadline.

He was the one...

Corner, Kamari Whitfield, who's going to be in the nickel.

Plays in the nickel right now at the First Academy, too, in Orlando.

Then you have kicker Aaron McWilliams and long snapper J.D. Lane all in this 2027 recruiting class.

And, well, the Florida Gators got answers, right? Because that means that assuming you keep – let's just – play the assumption game right assuming that vernon brown the third and dallas wilson stay with the florida gators for next year that means that you would have vernon brown the third dallas wilson and eastern royal um that's you'd have right uh as far as more reason to give will griffin a run this year i don't look i'm gonna be honest with you um i don't think that's gonna happen i i I don't know if there's going to be a change or if there should be a change or any of that stuff.

And I have a sneaky one for you.

The, uh, uh, Archbishop McCarthy, you know, as a, as a program that has really started to grow a little bit, they're taking a trip up to Orlando to play The First Academy.

And The First Academy is right now in the thick of that, uh, playoff.

And if they could ...

You know, this is one of those games, is a trap game.
