And pretty muggy here in Boston under cloudy skies at 6.05 on, yes, this Friday morning.

Parents of Boston teenagers wonder what is going on as kids get ready to head back to English High School in the city, which is under construction for the second straight opening day.

Neighbors in Jamaica Plains say construction at the English High School has taken way too long.

Scaffolding boarded up windows and cranes lining the streets surrounding the school have been an eyesore for over a year.

If I were a student, it would probably be a little disruptive for me.

For advocates and educators, it's part of a much larger problem.

The windows at English High School are just a highly visible example, I would say, of a much larger facilities problem in our schools.

Well, let's rewind back.

Uh, he was born in Roxbury, Boston, and attended Boston Latin School, and graduated from English High School of Boston.

After graduating high school, he became an assistant at the Harvard College Observatory before moving on to the US Naval Academy, uh, as a professor of mathematics.
