The Elkhart Truth

I started out in Elkhart as a kid, collecting comics in the late 70s.

I had two paper routes for the Elkhart Truth as a kid to support my habit.

And it just eventually became the largest collection in the world.

Back in the 90s, 35 years ago, Hollyhero started out as a comic publishing company.

And so then what had happened is probably the late...

The late 90s, I had lost my second daughter to SIDS, and I had stopped doing that, and then that's when I got into real estate, you know, because I just, you know, I had all my money sunk in the company.

I was working at the Elkhart Truth as a manager at the time, too, because I spent 30 years in the newspaper industry.

And just... you know just struggling personally with with what had happened and you know didn't have enough money for like a gravestone and things like that and that just really crushed me so you know i went and started doing real estate part-time plus you know my you know my job dale cart truth um i kind of gave up the publishing at that point because it was getting hard to replace all the guys that were going to dc and marvel i can't i can't match that right you know and so then i got out of the comic book industry for so this was probably about 1999 2000 Got out until about 2007.
