DataHOST

If it opened up with you waking up in a cart, that's Skyrim.
DataHOST
66:20
If it opened up with Patrick Stewart dying, that's Oblivion.
MikePANELIST
66:24
I cannot remember at this point.
MikePANELIST
66:27
Elder Scrolls and Mass Effect are the two that I started a game and then played for at least an hour, maybe an hour and a half, and then was like, this is boring.
Lotus of DoomHOST
66:05
Okay.
Lotus of DoomHOST
66:07
Coming from the guy with, you know, a thousand hours in Oblivion, five thousand hours in Morrowind, and like, I don't know, four thousand hours in Skyrim.
Lotus of DoomHOST
66:15
It's like, oh yeah, that one's too big.
Lotus of DoomHOST
66:17
Got it.
David MarkhamHOST
22:21
Yeah, the people I met.
Joe EvansHOST
22:22
Even with Dead Oblivion.
David MarkhamHOST
22:24
Yeah.
David MarkhamHOST
22:25
And there is a Fallout New Vegas remake also, well, remaster coming also.

5 MINS LATER

Joe EvansHOST
27:50
But it needs to be, they need to focus on the role play side of things.
Joe EvansHOST
27:57
And one of my biggest gripes with Bethesda recently has been the choice and consequence, which I feel they've lost ever since.
Joe EvansHOST
28:08
Oblivion, really.
David MarkhamHOST
28:11
Like, there was a tad bit of it in Skyrim, but not to the extent of...
Kenny SmythsonHOST
1:43
It kind of... spreads it out doesn't feel a little rushed um because i think like the the main quest we like did like three missions per recording and you didn't really get to deep dive into some of the nuance and details of each of those little quests and so sometimes that's it's good to make sure you can dive into those and get all the little detail out of them plus you know just talk about your gameplay that you've been up to kind of a thing um
SoliorGUEST
2:10
Yeah, I was actually kind of curious as to how you guys were going to handle Ron Hope, because I, even though, like, I knew he was Wes Johnson and everything, Shea Gorath from Oblivion and Skyrim and all that.
SoliorGUEST
2:27
Like, I hated the character, but at the same time, like, when he goes through the whole speech, I was like, You know, he does have a point.
SoliorGUEST
2:37
And I had Sam with me, and Sam did not want me to kill him.
Kenny SmythsonHOST
3:46
Let's see.
Kenny SmythsonHOST
3:47
You kill him in...
Kenny SmythsonHOST
3:49
Oh, no, in Oblivion, you don't kill him.
Kenny SmythsonHOST
3:52
You come across him...
Susan CummingsGUEST
28:48
We, we were right way more often than we were wrong.
Susan CummingsGUEST
28:51
I mean, I will tell you that one of the deals that Ryan did that we all, including me, weren't happy about at the time, which is why I say he was better than I was, [laughs] is we did a deal with Bethesda, when Vlatko was running it, to pick up the rights to Oblivion.
Greg OffHOST
29:08
Mm.
Susan CummingsGUEST
29:08
And Todd Howard came to New York, showed us the game.
Danny O'DwyerHOST
17:34
So, like, we were, you know, young when this came out.
Danny O'DwyerHOST
17:37
Like, math is hard, but, like, late teenagers or whatever, right? And, you know, I think now that I've, like, interviewed developers who made a bunch of, like, you know, Ultima Underworld and made Arx Fatalis and all these games that came out, this sort of, like, RPG games, like, I think the SX might have been the first, like, kind of RPG first person RPG I ever played like I remember Oblivion was a real moment for me of like oh it's like a game where you're first person but you don't have to like kill people all the time whereas like coming off this I was like obviously Half-Life in 98 Unreal Tournament and Quake 3 in 99 like lots there was so many shooters and there was you know strategic games like Splinter Cell maybe I don't know something there was games around this era that were doing other things but this level of um Yeah, the immersive sim nature of this was new to me.
Danny O'DwyerHOST
18:27
And I do wonder if that's a big reason why it had such an imprint, because there was such a...
Danny O'DwyerHOST
18:33
I still think it's fantastic.
JohnHOST
4:52
I
speaker_5PANELIST
4:53
remember that was a big thing in Oblivion.
speaker_5PANELIST
4:55
Or you could just try selling out, but then if you had something too expensive, they were like, nope, can't take it.
speaker_5PANELIST
5:02
But I was like, I could just sell small things and you would have it.
WerewolfHOST
21:15
Whereas I will say Morrowind was like really bogged down with a lot of systems and it was a lot to take in and get used to and really easy to fall off.
Sick JakeHOST
21:28
Morrowind and Oblivion, they had stat stats.
Sick JakeHOST
21:32
Didn't Skyrim get rid of the stats? It just has a three, right? Health, magic, and endurance? Or does it still have stats under the hood? I don't remember.
WerewolfHOST
21:39
Oh, that's a good question.
MattHOST
76:37
I always forget this was an exclusive.
MattHOST
76:42

Ignore my dog in the background if you're watching the video.
MattHOST
76:53
I'm going to be honest with you.
MattHOST
76:54
I'm going to go Oblivion.
MattHOST
76:55
You're going to go what, sorry? Oblivion.
Stoy JovicHOST
31:26
I had fun with it the two times I jumped in on it.
Stoy JovicHOST
31:29
So I played Oblivion for the Switch 2.
Stoy JovicHOST
31:34
I got the physical edition right here.
Stoy JovicHOST
31:36
This is $150 I'm holding in my hand right now.
Stoy JovicHOST
32:57
Um, I think it looks awesome.
Stoy JovicHOST
32:59
Um, for some characters, the face moves, but the hair doesn't.
Stoy JovicHOST
33:06
I don't understand if that's, if that's from the original game or not, but it weirds me out when some, when I talk to some NPCs and it's like, why is it like that? But, Has anybody played the Oblivion 2 remaster?
Patrick KleinHOST
33:23
No? I played when it first came out on the Xbox.
