The Effigies

That'd be the 30th.

The band The Effigies released a new single called Algorithm.

I'll be talking about that pretty soon.

They have an album coming out.

It's like, no, that's the name of their release.

Release all the California straight edge.

It comes out like the Kraken, you know? And finally, the aforementioned Effigies will be releasing their sixth album, their first album in...

In two years, actually, Fire Aim Ready.

Today on the show, we have Paul Zamos.

Paul is a bass player and one of the founding members of the band The Effigies.

The Effigies formed in 1980 and have been recognized as one of Chicago's pioneering punk bands, shaping the Midwest scene with their aggressive sound and captivating lyrics and the band's DIY ethos.

Throughout the 80s and 90s, the Effigies shared the stage with many legendary acts such as Naked Raygun, Big Black, and national acts like The Circle Jerks, Black Flag, The Cramps, and P.I.L.

In 2023, the band merged from a period of relative inactivity to record a new album.

But during this time, the tragic passing of John Kesady, the original singer, kind of put a hold on that.

The band continued on in his legacy with vocalist Jeff Saban.

The Effigies have a new album coming out called Fire Aim Ready, and it holds up to everything in their legacy.
