This Morton Downey was the father, Morton Downey Sr. George Louther also wrote Captain Video for television, as well as the daytime serials Edge of Night and Secret Storm.

He died on April 28, 1975, at the age of 62.

You know, she had this amazing arc on Edge of Night, right? You had a few other Oscar nominees and winners do the same thing on Daytime, but Primetime was really where Yeah, fine, which I love.

But yes, Carly on General Hospital.

I mean, she is almost like a classic Hollywood heroine to me.

And so my mother was a typical 1950s mother and housewife.

And she watched the soap operas, As the World Turns, The Edge of Night.

And it's been a real journey because that is true.

Since I was 10 and watching General Hospital and watching The Edge of Night, it was just, you know, these worlds that you'd be transported through.

And the stories were just so fantastic.

And they gave you such choices to really contemplate, even as a 10-year-old.

She modeled for teen romance novel covers during her youth.

She landed her first major acting gig at age 15 on ABC's soap opera, The Edge of Night.

I don't know that one.

And fun fact for all my Full House people, she was only contracted for six episodes to be Danny Tanner's morning co-host.

He wrote 43 episodes for CBS Radio Mystery Theater alone.

But his resume includes writing for Alfred Hitchcock and penning hundreds of television scripts, including daytime soap operas like The Edge of Night.

And I think his background in daytime television is actually highly relevant here.

letters of support from all over the world because again everybody's watching it on on streaming so they uh they see what's going on and uh you know they and again i i think i think they would be better off if they were still watching general hospital or as the world turns or the edge of night The guy in The Edge of Night for a long time was named Carr, K-A-R-R.

And his wife, she wanted to leave the show, so they knocked her off.
