The Dodo

It makes me happy.

Well, I'm curious, how did the dodo find you? Because you're on like...

Yeah, the dodo.

So it was during COVID.

And this woman calls me and she says, I didn't even know how to do a post.

She threw it on Instagram and TikTok.

Boom, it did like 2.2 million views.

And then I'm contacted by the dodo.

So a couple of years ago, Springer posted a TikTok video in which Daniel was named employee of the month.

Now, that got picked up by the Dodo, which is an animal lovers website.

The video ended up across a bunch of platforms.

It got 67,000 views.

The advocacy content covered a wide range of approaches.

There were undercover investigation videos, educational videos, street outreach videos, sanctuary videos from The Dodo, and recipe videos.

On the utter- article side, these were news articles, including some about lawsuits involving animal welfare violations, as well as articles about disruptive protests and op-eds.

We also tracked a much wider set of outcomes than before.

so let's talk about the kind of the business side of things when did you you started 2017 with youtube is that

right 2017 was i when i started i had a dog training account on instagram i was posting my dog's tricks and then i found jones uh i started training him i posted one of his tricks and i just like the comments were just exploding and then the dodo contacted me and like it was

oh no way yeah

i was on the dodo for teaching an arm hoop jump and so it was just like the second i started posting cat content everyone was like what what's going on here how did you do that and that started to get me thinking um People are interested in this.

You know, maybe there's something here.

And I started doing some research and I was like, oh, that's interesting.

It's like a challenge, something new, something exciting.

So, yeah, that's kind of how I got started.
