Barbara Ewing from Future Weirdy, Dracula Has Risen From The Grave, John Carson from previous weirdies The Plague Of The Zombies, Taste The Blood Of Dracula, and Captain Kronos Vampire Hunter.
PaulHOST

And Rosalind Landor, who played Little Peggy in the greatest film ever made, The Devil Rides Out.
PaulHOST
6:40
And, to top it all, Don Sharp, the director of previous weirdy Kiss of the Vampire.
PaulHOST
6:52
Was this one of the reasons I chose this episode? Maybe.

Except this time it's to locate Alison and to not conjure a demon.
PaulHOST
20:12
This is where some similarities with the Devil Rides Out show.
PaulHOST

In the classic best film ever made, both Mokatta and the Richelieu use women and trances to locate things.
TitoHOST

Out.
TitoHOST

of had a little bit to do with witchcraft.

13 MINS LATER

BrianHOST
81:37
But the strange thing is...
BrianHOST
81:39
Hammer themselves didn't write this.
BrianHOST
81:42
This was based on a book, like The Devil Rides Out was.
BrianHOST
81:46
So I don't know if maybe they didn't follow the book the way it was supposed to be.
EricHOST
57:40
We'll do Dracula, Prince of Darkness from 1958.
EricHOST
57:43
Christopher Lee, The Devil Rides Out, which is another great Hammer horror movie.
EricHOST
57:47
Vampire Circus, if you want to get a little freaky, a little 70s, a little weird with your vampire movies.
EricHOST
57:53
Then let's do road horror movie, Wrong Turn.
Chris FranklinGUEST
10:49
So which, whichever.
Chris FranklinGUEST
10:50
This isn't as bad as, you know, The Devil's Bride versus The Devil Rides Out, so you know.
Chris FranklinGUEST
10:54
[laughs]
Billy D.HOST
10:56
Yeah.

Billy D.HOST

Uh, she has a granny, Granny Rigg, and I'm, I don't know if I can even try to pronounce this woman's name.
Billy D.HOST
27:18
I'll just call her Gwen Davies, because, uh, the, the middle part of her name there, it looks absolutely like there, there's just no way I'm pronouncing that correctly, so I'm not even going to try.
Billy D.HOST
27:27
But, uh, she is very interesting, and I do remember her in a very interesting role in, uh, another Hammer film, The Devil Rides Out, right?
Chris FranklinGUEST
27:35
Oh, yeah.
Mark MuncyHOST
6:00
Haunted, haunted movies.
Mark MuncyHOST
6:02
Uh, I do have to say one movie in- I couldn't bring back into this, but I love it dearly, is The Devil Rides Out from 1968.
Mark MuncyHOST
6:11
Christopher Lee versus witches in a Satanic cult.
Mark MuncyHOST
6:15
I couldn't bring it back because we already did it in Satan, so, in Satanic Movies.
Kevin MoreauHOST
82:00
Kurt Holman, you have the floor.
Kurt HolmanHOST
82:01
Well, I mentioned the Hammer Studios movies, and I may have recommended this before, but I wanted to recommend one of my favorite Hammer movies, which is The Devil Rides Out, which is from like I think 1967 and Christopher Lee who is usually the monster or the adversary in the movies is the hero in this one he's an occult like Jason Blood esque you know supernatural investigator do-gooder type and he's fighting this like team of cultists who are led by actor Charles Gray who was played Blofeld in the James Bond movie Diamonds Are Forever and is the criminologist or narrator in the Rocky Horror Pictures show, Tim Curry RIP.
Kurt HolmanHOST
82:46
And it's a very, very fun, you know, not all that scary, but very fun like occult, like good guys versus bad guys and evil spells and hypnotism and demons appearing and, you know, pentagrams and like giant spells.
Kurt HolmanHOST
83:00
spiders and whatnot, so it's very entertaining.
Chris FranklinHOST
27:21
So, you know.
Chris FranklinHOST
27:23
Captain Collier is played by lantern-jawed Patrick Allen, who appeared in Alfred Hitchcock's Dial M for Murder, Hammer's The Viking Queen, there's that again, and The Devil Rides Out, or his voice did, dubbing another actor, and When Dinosaurs Ruled the Earth.
Chris FranklinHOST
27:37
He also narrated tons of movies and TV series, and shortly after this starred as the lead in the BBC series Crane, where he played a smuggler.
Chris FranklinHOST
27:48
His bosun is played by David Lodge, who appeared in Hammer Comedy's Up the Creek and The Ugly Duckling, which is a comedy version of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.
Chris FranklinHOST

Josh AdkinsHOST
27:48

Josh AdkinsHOST
29:07
We had a tie.
Josh AdkinsHOST
29:08
Ladies and gentlemen, there's a tie, so we can't hand out a spooky until we talk about it.
Josh AdkinsHOST
29:12
So the tie is between Rasputin the Mad Monk and The Devil Rides Out.
Donny RichmondHOST
29:17
