And I was very interested in the melancholic child.

It has stayed with me about sort of children that have targets on their back.

Children who are raised in circumstances and suffer certain messages or vulnerabilities and that they walk out into the world.

It's not just anyone.

And we want to really keep the dialectic tension between the internal and the external.

I'm not saying not talking about trauma.

Of course, it's important to talk about trauma, to think about what was done to us and to own what we're doing.

And my hope is, I think my hope is, first of all, is not to teach anybody anything.

But my mother was a therapist and she had a series of books that were called The Dance Of and we used to make fun of them.

Like The Dance of Anger, The Dance of Intimacy.

We've talked about this because I still want to get Harriet Lerner.

She wrote these books.

So with that, let me get into the Odyssey, the journey home.

Alice Miller wrote in her book, The Drama of the Gifted Child, when speaking about the experience of finding ourself.

She said, this is not a homecoming, since this home has never before existed.

It is the creation of home.

So today I'm going to talk about, not exhaustively, but I'm going to talk about what I took away from my reading of the Odyssey.

And the version that I read was Emily Wilson's version, which was the same one that Christopher Nolan used for this.

It was about my own personal experience with the book and what it meant and what it means in my own journey.
