I thought you were going to say The Fly, but I realised it was more like Jurassic Park, wasn't it? We obviously have watched The Dam Busters this week, been quite a bit of reaction.

on the socials um it's very disappointing because one of the things if we cover certain topics i know that posting on the socials is gonna attract a certain crowd dad's army i'm looking at you and lo and behold the dam busters people not commenting on the bravery of the men involved or the ingenuity of the technology that created these bombs that gave this strategic hit against germany no no they just wanted to focus on the name of the dog as we discussed in our last week's episode and it just shows proves the point I thought that you know the RAF was very right to remove the name of the dog and the name of the dog is only a problem or an issue for a very small amount of people because the rest of it like us would just rather just watch it with the dog named Trigger and not a highly offensive racial slur but I've just been batting them off Dave do you know what I mean there comes a point where it's just like there's no point you know you flick yourself off to your pathetic little racist point and I will focus on something lovely over here looking this cat you know

yeah absolutely i think you did it with aplomb very succinct in your replies etc something triggered me on instagram this week and it was a reel of an american director talking about their runners or a pa if they get assigned a runner or a pa which is basically the lowest paid member of the crew just getting a foothold on the industry they work really really hard and they deserve a huge amount of respect and they don't get treated very well Certainly when I was a runner 20 years ago, things have improved since.

But there was this really arrogant director and she was saying about, don't fuck up my coffee.

It's all about karma.

Anyway, I segue then.

Yes, because we're talking about The Dam Busters, which was released on the 16th of May, 1955, which was the 12th anniversary of the actual bombing raid in the film.

Um, obviously a very prolific director, but did the classic The Dam Busters.

Yeah.

So in terms of, you know, uh, sort of looking back at, um, uh, the sort of World War II and, and British past.

Then we have Nigel Stock as Vice Admiral Payne.

He was in The Dam Busters, Battle of the River Plate, HMS Defiance and Great Escape.

Again, yet another kind of like supporting role there for him.

Tons of movies.

Banking episodes.

Yes, we're going back to 1955 for the iconic The Dam Busters.

I'm quite looking forward to it.

We've never done a war film.

And you're more likely to do that if you are in keeping all the way through, I think.

It's a bit like if you like watching, say, a World War II film, you know, if I watch the Dam Busters, I don't expect the Starship Enterprise to fly in and bomb the dam.

Gladiator, you know, we all know about it.
