Uh, there are other fights with Native communities afterward, but, uh, in 1870, 1876 saw ultimately the defeat and demolition of the last really significant Native alliance, okay? War has broken out, uh, in, in the, in the Dakotas and the Montana territory, uh, primarily with the Sioux, the Lakota and other Sioux groups and, and their allies, Cheyenne and others.

Uh, Custer's been dispatched, uh, as one of three columns of troops to, uh, to, to fight and to, uh, presumably bring that, that, that Native, uh, they called it a rebellion, but in any way, it was a war to an end.

Uh, on July 5th, 1876, William Tecumseh Sherman, uh, is, is sitting at, he's at the Centennial.
