The Croods: A New Age

Like I still kind of have to like act it out as if it's live action.

Um, but I, I mean, Croods 2 was, was mostly during COVID I did at home.

Like most of Croods 2 is like me in my closet with a, you know, like I got the, the nice mic and like the half dome globe thing, and like we did it all remote.

And I did, I did that entire, or not entire, but um, I did a, this Netflix series called Inside Job, a animated show, and the whole, yeah, the whole back half of that was, was remote.

So, so that's different.

Joe Crawford previously showed his skill directing sequels to DreamWorks Animation movies with The Croods: A New Age and Puss in Boots: The Last Wish.

Now he's been given the opportunity to tell his own original story, partnering with Januel Mercado, a longtime story artist at DreamWorks who also co-directed The Last Wish.

Titled Forgotton Island, this new animated movie is heavily inspired by Filipino mythology.

And we have just so much kind of similar like movie interests, sensibilities.

And then after we kind of did two sequels for the studio in Crude's A New Age and Puss in Boots Last Wish, We were, when we were like, let's make something original, something us.

And so we started writing this and kind of our friendship was a core element of that, that we just have this shorthand.

And one of the interesting things for me, one of the reasons I love Superbad is because So Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg were best friends while they were in high school, I believe, writing that script about themselves.
