The Cornelius Quartet

There isn't the same analysis of the local reaction to the impending nuclear disaster, nor is there the idea of balkanisation and isolationist behaviour on the part of the various nations, but there is this... principle of coincidence where characters find themselves implausibly together again and again during their journeys through various countries.

So the second bit of media, and I'm only going to touch upon it briefly now, is Moorcock's Jerry Cornelius stories, which are partially influenced by the Commedia dell'Arte.

think i pronounced that correctly um so jerry cornelius i believe is supposedly a pierrot uniperson is a harlequin and so on so before the hiatus i got six volumes into my collection of the tale of the eternal champion which are the early 90s omnibus editions that moorcock himself curated So I've got volume 7 and 8 to get through before I get to volume 9, which is The New Nature of the Catastrophe, which I think is mostly short stories rather than novels like The Final Programme.

So I'm just going to pin this thought for now and maybe come back to it when I read that finally.

I can imagine developing Avatar playbooks like Pierrot or Columbine and having them move through time and space, taking on different identities with established relationships or mutual needs.
