With the Radio National Top 100 Australian Books countdown now open for voting, could it include a cookbook? Well, obviously it should.

My favourite, oh, some of my favourite Australian cookbooks.

I mean, you know, I think of the ones I grew up with and, you know, I started cooking from my mum's books, which are the Australian Women's Weekly.

You know, one of my very first cookbooks was The Cook's Companion by Stephanie Alexander, which I think is on every shelf in the country almost for good reason.

But equally I grew up, you know, reading like Marie Claire cookbooks, which was Donna Hay.
