The Concretes

I don't know why that boing is so important to me, but it exemplifies to me the total awkwardness and the genuine connection between them.

Hey, it's our old friend Victoria Bergsman, she of Swedish indie pop band The Concretes.

That's Victoria of "Teen Love" fame joining Peter Morén on "Young Folks." The creakiness, the winsome imperfections of both their voices, the palpable, attainable, go ahead and try this at home achiness of both their vowels.

I'm into it.

I'm falling in love with you

"Teen Love." Uh, here we have a fellow young Swedish pop band called The Concretes featuring on lead vocals one Victoria Bergsman.

Victoria is in her 20s, but Victoria also sings with a super appealing and distinctly adult sort of bone weariness.

It is harder than it sounds to sing a deceptively dainty song called "Teen Love" while evoking both teen love and an older person's rapidly decaying daydreaming memories of teen love.

I think that's a little bleep of electric guitar going boing right after she stops singing and right before he starts singing.

I don't know why that boing is so important to me, but it exemplifies to me the total awkwardness and the genuine connection between them.

Now, for the purpose of this show, I did not choose any 60 songs, so I'm glad you are.

In fact, for my number five, I am going to the very tail end of what we call the O3L era, 1999, and the Swedish indie pop band The Concretes and their song Teen Love.

So it's got this really cool, like bouncy space age bachelor pad type rhythm and And always irresistible vocals of Victoria Bergman.

And her pipes are best known as the female vocalist on Peter, Bjorn, and John's Young Folks.
