Hi, Steph.

Hi, I'm Steph and, oh.

I feel like part of the problem with having read them so much is we have all this information, right, from the future that we're like, oh, isn't that the case? But I don't think that we've gotten any direct information information about that yet.

Okay.

But I, I still, I always thought that, you know, he just was extra because he had been hurt by a bear, but that any, but I don't know, it's possible that I just am, you know, adding my own layer to it, but that because they're the clan of the cave bear, their head magician would obviously have the totem of cave bear kind of like the Pharaohs, right? It's like, well, obviously I'm the God on earth because I'm the son of the previous God on earth, but I don't know.

I don't know.

Yeah.

And the last two books he read to me were Clan of the Cave Bear and Mary Shelley's Frankenstein.

Whoa.

Neither of which are really like light lifts, but Clan of the Cave Bear is a whole other story.

But I think he wanted to like, he wanted to have some chats, some conversations with me about things.

Yeah.

Yeah.

My closest when I was growing up was, um, Clan of the Cave Bear.

Hello, and welcome to Prehistoric Book Club.

I'm Kat.

And so that's what we're doing.

So we both love the books from the Earth's Children series by Jean M. Owl.

The first book is Clan of the Cave Bear, which is where we're going to start out today.

But when we get together, we often end up talking about these books.

The, the, the idea of anything that smacks of that is controversial and considered almost white supremacist to talk about, so we're doing a little white supremacy tonight.

Clan of the Cave Bear.

I, I always think of Clan of the Cave Bear.

Uh, n- now this is, this is prehistorical, going way, supposedly ice a- end of the ice age.

And, uh, but it was a novel, very popular novel in, uh, around 1980, I think it sh- it was published, Jean M. Auel.

Um, with my book, I have loved, uh, "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe" and I love Jean M. Auel's books.

These are about, um, the, uh, Clan of the Cave Bear and the Children of the Earth series.

And she teaches, um, she's an anthropologist and she tr- teaches herbal healing within her books.

And I've always loved nature, always wanted to be out in the woods, riding my horse in the woods.

Right?

Yes.

Um, Jean M. Auel, like I said, The Clan of the Cave Bear books really had the influence on me.

And I wanted to teach people how to stay with their planet, but I didn't wanna preach.
