The Chills

It is sending chills of excitement as far away as the US and France.

Hundreds of collectibles once owned by the chills frontman and rocker Martin Phillips are up for auction with proceeds going to charities and causes close to his heart.

Phillips died in 2024.

The eclectic collection includes James Bond books, figurines, keyboards and drawings by Martin, plus a stripy guitar played by Martin Phillips in a Chills video.

So, Kaleidoscope World was probably, I would say, one of the Chills' most famous early songs.

And I was intrigued to find out, uh, when I found out more about Jane Dodd, who was born in 1962, this contemporary jeweler.

Uh, she was once a drummer with- in the Dunedin, in the Dunedin sound, in the Dunedin space, with both The Chills and The Verlaines, and Flying Nun Records.

Mm-hmm.

And so I've chosen a Chills track, uh, which is called Heavenly Pop Hit, which was introduced to me by Martin Phillips of The Chills on a pre-recording, um, cassette.
