The Children's Hospital at Westmead

Emma is a paediatric gastroenterologist and hepatologist at Perth Children's Hospital in Western Australia.

She trained in WA at Princess Margaret Hospital before undertaking further training in London at King's College Hospital and in Sydney at the Westmead Children's Hospital.

Outside of work, Emma is a mum of three children and one Labrador and loves the beach and Perth sunshine.

She's joined today by my guest co-host, Dr Erin Horsley.

Yeah, so I started talking to a long-time follower of mine, Jared, and he said he's been struggling over the last couple of days with his son being in hospital.

He had to have emergency surgery in his gut and had to flush it out, and they've done biopsies, and he was spending Father's Day in Westmead Children's Hospital, which is about an hour and a half drive, and I was going to post him, his son, a couple of little gifts in the mail, but I just thought I had the day to myself.

I'd just deliver it to him personally.

And he got up there and there was a couple of tears I could see swelling up.

... and Westmead Children's Hospital have new buildings, and they both have these recording studios.

When I say recording studios, it's a small room with a cou- two couches- [laughs]

I can tell you there are reports of a stabbing.

I'm being told that one person has been taken to Westmead Children's Hospital.

with injuries to the abdomen, I'm being told.

There's approximately 10 police and ambulances at the gates, a loud siren blaring from inside the school.

Well, there is an incident and I'm told that somebody has been stabbed and that person has been taken to Westmead Children's Hospital.

I don't know their condition.
