Ground rule number 19 states that I will let you know about some of the podcasts that I've been regularly listening to, and Jake's show called Jake's Inferno is one.

He is on number 464, and it includes some great stuff from The Bronx, Black Flag, Kiss, and Abba.

We have Matt from The Bronx, just to name a few.

So a punk rock supergroup here, originally formed in San Fran in 1995 as Me First.

and then proceeds of the sales from the 7-inch went to the Sweet Relief Musicians Fund.

But now it’s all done at the click of a button.

If we look at a band like The Bronx, who first gained traction in New York’s underground, they self-released their debut on Bandcamp before signing with an indie label.

By leveraging Bandcamp’s community features and direct fan interaction, they cultivated a loyal following that translated into strong initial sales for their later releases, which were distributed globally by a major distributor while still retaining a chunk of control over pricing.

The modern digital DIY also changed the way touring networks work.

Oh, geez.

There was a point in time before my son was born, they used to do this rocks off event where you'd go into the city and you'd get on like a small boat.

It may be held like 100 people on it.

Mm hmm.

And they would just travel around on the boat and you'd hang out on the boat.

Bronx would play.

It was like really, really interesting experience.

You just heard the Danish band Pleaser, which I had the pleasure of seeing live a couple of weeks ago here in town.

The Pounding Chest is the name of the track, and if you like that, pick up the album Begging Guitars, released last year.

Prior to Pleaser, I played Too Many Devils by The Bronx.
