The Borderlands

Same thing

... we're watching the movie Borderlands.

Uh, outside...

It's called Border- the Borderlands outside of the US, and inside of the US it is called The Final Prayer.

Uh, on our VC box it got a, a five out of 10, and I, I, I like reading those numbers on the VC box-

Yeah

I love that that's an 8.7.

It is awesome.

Four, Lake Mungo.

Three, The Borderlands.

Two is Get Juked.

Currently number one is Arentapau, has been for a while now.

Who'd have thought it? Unfortunately, that means Alex has not won the wild card, card race for this season.

Ross is still winning that.

He picked The Borderlands, which is still third.

We have one wild card left to be played.

Well, a film which may or may not be of the folk horror genre, and decide on two very important factors.

Number one, is it, in fact, a part of the folk horror genre? And number two, more importantly, and most importantly, dear listener, is it a film which is worth your time? And this week we have watched the 2013 film, Borderlands, also known in...

Well, certainly in the US, uh, by the title The Final Prayer.

It is written and directed by Elliot Goldner, his directorial debut.

Well, hello there.

And here we all are.

So gents, initial impressions of The... not Borderlands, 'cause that's a film, a bad, bad film based on a video game.

Uh, this is indeed The Borderlands.

i

was like yes this is so good i love that so i thoroughly enjoyed that as well conversely i watched the devil wears prada too and didn't really enjoy that i feel like it didn't really hit the notes that i needed it to i thought the sort of commentary on the decline of print media was really relevant and really interesting but I just felt like they'd softened the Miranda character too much I just yeah it didn't really do anything for me in the whole Justin Theroux storyline just didn't really yeah anyways it was it was worth a watch I'm glad I watched it anyway just to sort of I couldn't have not watched it because I loved the first one so much but I didn't really like what they did with a few of the characters so Last view, I watched The Borderlands, which was one of Chris's recommendations.

I think it has another name when it was released in the States, but basically it's like a sort of found footage horror about a church down in England, a sort of like rural sort of village church, and the priest or the deacon there or whatever, he's convinced that there's strange goings on in the church.

So the Vatican sends out this team to investigate the And it's all done through their sort of like head cams or cameras that they've got set up.

Four, Lake Mungo.

Three, The Borderlands.

Two, Get Duked.

One, Rent-A-Pow.

[laughs]

Yeah, that and The Borderlands, uh, the, the UK one that takes place in the church is, is quite effective.

But, um, in any case, uh, we've got so many questions for you, Sarah, and before we get into them, we like to do something just to talk about what we've been watching, playing, reading.

Um, so Lowell and I will kick things off 'cause we don't wanna put you too much on the spot, um, 'cause we did just kind of, uh, throw this question to you right before we hit record.
