Shelterwood is a horror fiction podcast about one man's journey to find his long lost sister.

In the style of other fiction podcasts like Limetown or The Black Tapes, this show mimics the format of a true crime podcast, including dramatic narrations, slick productions, and startling twists.

Season one has 16 episodes and follows podcaster Nicholas DeRosa on a quest to find his sister in an infinite suburb dreamscape called Shelterwood.

It's an incredible show.

hello everyone welcome back we are back the eye of the storm podcast today we're here to discuss the social reckoning but before we get into that daniel to let the people know what they should be watching this week

so normally we talk about movies and and shows but my recommendation this week is something a little bit different since it's october and we're in halloween season i dug up an old favorite audio drama of mine which is the black tapes now the black tapes is a kind of found footage horror series that came out in 2015 and it follows the story of a podcaster who essentially interviews interesting people and for the next episode she interviews a paranormal investigator who is known for debunking hauntings and conspiracy theories and that sort of thing in the course of doing so she discovers that he is a closet full of unsolved tapes of hauntings that have not yet been debunked these are the black tapes and she decides to make this entire season about this mystery and kind of trying to do a profile on this debunker and it leads into a kind of paranormal conspiracy that kind of develops into something bigger Now, the black tapes on the one hand is awful.

It's full of padding.

It's full of melodrama.

And then it all connects and it's all connected, man.

That's the kind of story this is.

And the Black Tapes essentially was so successful that it created an entire genre of horror audio dramas.

that essentially takes this framing device of we're making a fictional podcast, and then we uncover this massive mystery that usually has some kind of occult or paranormal angle to it.
