today we are doing hitchcock's classic the birds and we're following that up with a strange little italian film called death laid an egg

Our A-movie today is The Birds from 1963, directed by Alfred Hitchcock.

I see.

Is that domoic acid? Yeah, that's the California one.

Alfred Hitchcock's movie, The Birds, that's based on a true story.

In the real world, it was not actually murder birds, but they were disoriented and flying into stuff because domoic acid damages the hippocampus and is really disorienting.

And the list goes on.

I'm loving the writer's style.

So far, there have been references to Psycho, Midsommar, The Birds, American Psycho, and Rosemary's Baby.

I'll keep you posted, but I think it's worth checking out.

You know how I love a good J-horror film.

And like, I think it's like Australia or like New Zealand, they end up on the sandbar, like the, the boat tips over like the little like tourist boat tips over and they're on the sandbar.

They're fine for now, but there is a alligator crocodile, whatever, a large, uh, thing that has teeth and a tail that is now like swimming around and as the tide comes in it's getting closer and closer that's that's a that's a fun movie very tense right um obviously the birds by alfred hitchcock i know that one's that's a fun one Well, fun unless you think about too much and then learn about it.

Then behind the scenes, it's horrific.

I love that.

The most, like when I was first kind of introduced, so there's the most obvious and the most palatable is Hitchcock's The Birds.

You're both familiar with that.

And then there's no kind of rhyme or reason to why the birds started taking humanity.

Oh, right.

I've never even thought of that.
