It's the Beyond, Cult Luna.

Like I discovered ISIS around about the same kind of time.

And...

Once Colin had got to the beyond, I listened to it.

Yeah, this is good.

Cult of Luna were quietly building up steam on the other side of the Atlantic, and then before you knew it, they had just run and established one of the greatest, most unassailable catalogs that the genre's ever seen.

I, I also got into Cult of Luna when Vertical came out, uh, but then the next album that I went back and really got into was The Beyond, uh, which is like one of the nastiest, most destructive, crushing records in this style.

It's probably their heaviest album.

I love it.

The title was just so evocative in terms of, like, an album that puts emphasis on the sense of journey, you know what I mean?

Mm.

'Cause Cult of Luna, you know, while I, I love how devastating The Beyond is and the albums before this one, and that, that's still one of my favorite Cult of Luna albums overall, they do become a band around this point in time that are really good to put on if you are just on a trip somewhere, you know? Like, that kind of like Cormac McCarthy's kind of feel of-
