The Baby-Sitters Club

Yeah.

Um, she is also currently rewriting The Babysitters Club, which I think is mostly interesting because The Babysitters Club was also super popular around the time of New Kids on the Block.

And she's doing a rewrite, I think, with other authors, and she's writing the Stacey chapters.

And in that book, she has made Stacey have a crush on, like, a boy band, and so she was just saying this is all she thinks about, and I also was like, "Are you thinking about this too much?"

Oh, yeah? I think it does hit on that same phenomenon in books and kids books, like The Baby-Sitters Club, where there was the smart one, the artsy one, the, like, science-y one, the one who was super kind or, like, I don't know, into church.

Like, every character embodied, like, a trope.

oh yeah

no that's not what i'm suggesting but i i read some babysitters club yeah books but i really was a sweet valley high gal meself there we go and um well if you need 45 randomly okay francine pascal or pasqual created uh what am i talking about yeah um but she didn't but writers were hired yeah to write them so i wondered if that was the same situation with babysitters club because they're associated in my mind in that i had both of them in my bookshelf

I actually was just talking about Babysitter's Club and The Boxcar Children with my friend.

Literally last week, we were talking about those book series, so that's so funny that you brought that up.

They're phenomenal.

I googled it when I was with her, and I already forgot the name of it again.

It was an offshoot of The Babysitter's Club.

It was the little sister, and her name was Karen.

But I didn't wanna say anything to him 'cause you know, he wanted to read the book.

I said, "But what it, what I, what it could be, it couldn't, there couldn't be a part two and part three like my Moonlight City Drive is a trilogy, right? It couldn't be like that." I said, "But what it could be is that it could be like Babysitter's Club or Nancy Drew or Hardy Boys-

And once you're kind of 16, I'm guessing this is more aimed at like, I guess like 12, 13, kind of that babysitter's club genre.

I wasn't big into Babysitter's Club, but I did read Sleepover Friends.

I read a lot of mystery books as a kid.

Like, I was always reading.

Amazing Days of Abby Hayes, Babysitter's Club.

Like, I was just, I loved reading when I was younger and pro- like, into a teenager.

And then when I got older, I wanna say, like, probably, like, drinking age, so, like, 18, 19, really started partying, got in my social bag, and-
