The Assignment

We are in 90s territory, folks.

This is also a worldwide first on Blu-ray, The Assignment.

For 20 years, Carlos the Jackal led a reign of terror so brutal his capture was an international obsession.

Now Global Manhunt is closing in.

He would appear in Hollywood movies, in novels, like the original Born Identity novel, where Carlos the Jackal featured.

The 1997 film The Assignment, which is obviously a total work of fiction, but again, plays on the Carlos the Jackal myth.

But maybe younger listeners don't really know who Carlos de Jackal is, because he is still alive, but certainly who he was.

So just quickly, who was Carlos de Jackal?

And the only job he was given in the beginning was collect names of important British citizens who were Jewish or involved in Israeli causes and create little dossiers on them.

And we'll try to figure out if there's one that we want to kidnap or assassinate.

in the future but that that was it just to come up with a list of names for us and carlos was quite diligent about it he came up with dozens and then hundreds of names and created dossiers with information about what they did and where they lived and he was quite ready and waiting for the assignment to happen and it didn't happen a year passed and then another year passed And finally, his moment came.

And if I can go ahead and unspool the story a little bit.
