The Anthem

Yeah.

Yeah, I'm go- I'm going s- um, there's a place called The Anthem in D.C.

Uh, it's really, it's an incredible f- uh, venue.

S- smaller, like it's all, it's all GA for the most part, but it has, has balconies and stuff.

Now, story five.

Ringo Starr and his all-star band coming to a place called The Anthem here in DC.

It was kind of an amazing show.

The band is great.

And I don't have any objection to them singing a couple of songs, but...

They sort of sang too many in that, you know, people were there to see Ringo.

That's why I would say the anthem holds something like 1,500 or 2,000 people, and it was packed.

But I think what was going on was the reason that some of the other guys in the band were singing some of the songs is that they were trying to reduce the strain on Ringo's voice.

She was addressing everybody, and, um, you know, the area, unique, and it was great.

And I, and I, I really liked the mock-up that they showed us of the Anthem.

I thought that looked really cool.

It looks incredibly-

I, I think their feel was sort of, th-th-they were also community-based in their own way, talking a lot about how there is such a, an untapped potential in, with the community and, and how there's already such a big presence of women's sports and women's volleyball that it's, it's there to be cultivated, I guess, if that's the right word.

I, I would 100% agree with that, and that's so great that you were able to go and get that on-the-ground knowledge because sometimes sitting back here, in my case, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, not all of that always comes through in the press releases and the photos, no matter how wonderfully done and produced they are.

Uh, I know for one, um, internal conversations were talking about the Anthem, about how it's a really intimate experience and how fans are going to be on top of the court, and I wasn't quite sure what that meant.

I thought it was maybe a really tight space or something, but seeing that mock-up, like you said, and dude, you're in the action.

I think Reddit mentioned that the DC flight we're going to be playing at a movie theater or some kind of theater.

And actually, it came out that they are going to be playing at the Anthem,

right? Which is a multi-level waterfront music venue and auditorium.

In DC?
