... and took his rap name from the butler on The Addams Family, who was also a big, tall guy.

Big house.

Big Clink.

And then we have an intensely protective group of estate guardians, and finally a massive streaming giant riding an unstoppable wave of algorithmic data.

It's all the pieces of modern Hollywood in one project.

But before we get into, you know, how mega agencies package these deals or how Netflix's algorithm dictates green lights, I think we need to examine the raw material.

The book itself.

But even with a perfect director and a willing, patient estate, someone has to actually orchestrate the deal.

The pieces don't just put themselves together.

It's very, it is very unique, like we've talked about and I said before.

It has to me shades of The Addams Family and The Munsters.

It also has, you know, that one part which makes me think of Young Frankenstein.

Lon Chaney makes you feel for this family even though they're doing horrific things.

Yeah, yeah.

Uh, yeah, it's, it's a very unique film, especially for the time.

In 1964, as you mentioned, The Addams Family and The Munsters had just debuted on TV.

Uh, there seemed to be something in the zeitgeist around comedies featuring strange horror-themed families.

It's like, you know, it was playing in syndication and stuff.

Adam's Family is a sh- is like a show that, that I would watch when, uh, when I was like sick, you know, home sick at, uh, the babysitter's house or whatever, 'cause my parents couldn't get off work.

So I was very familiar with the concept.

Same with The Munsters and, and stuff like that.

Um, but yeah, I, I knew every beat of it.

Oh, well a Jim Carrey reference is nice.

Or a bit of a Raul Julia in Adam's Family maybe, yeah.
