The Action Bible

Your kids started buying Bibles.

They're doing this Action Bibles project.

So your, your faith is a big part of this.

One of the things that I thought was really remarkable was that in order to get out of jail, so [laughs] you know, like I don't totally know.

Uh, and then of course they kind of are just swooning at this, uh, you know, young nine-year-old boy's heart and, and his, uh, mission.

And so they start talking about it amongst the neighborhood.

And the next thing you know, on my mom's Ring doorbell camera, we start seeing all these Action Bibles stacking up.

Ah.

And so we have these read while listening kits that we're putting out that have really interesting stuff.

So we've got the Action Bible.

So David C. Cook was willing to partner with us to put out the Action Bible as something that your child can hear while they follow along, which is great for that, you know, say eight to 10 year old that's just getting started reading and maybe a regular Bible is just too high reading level.

Like if you look, even the NLT, which is considered to be an easier version to read, is like written at a junior high level.

And so for a third grader, that can be tough.

Start them with the Action Bible.

And then when they get to 10 or 12, you can move up to the NLT, for example.

And what's great about that is we have the chronological NLT that Tricia uses on her other podcast called And so you can do a daily plan.

If you're, you know, if you read this to the kids, if you read like one of those a day, you know, and, and, Even if you didn't do it every day in a year, you'd easily have like these hundred basic Bible stories from the Old and New Testament.

And then you can use, I think another one that we use sometimes is what's called the Action Bible.

It's kind of like a comic book version.

Now, again, it's like there's a paraphrase, so I don't always just read the dialogue.

and point to the pictures.

And it's just a way for the kids to like visualize a little bit of what's going on.

And the reason I like the Action Bible is because it just has a lot more of the narratives from scripture in it.

And I know it's not a one for one.
