Star Wars: The Acolyte

And they don't want to be honest with the people when there's stuff right in front of us.

The Acolyte was not a good show, yet you still had people claiming that it was one of the best things of Star Wars out there, even though the industry universally was like, yeah, this is a bad show.

But the only reason why they said that is because either one, they got to go to Lucasfilm to go see this thing and meet Dave Filoni and Kathleen Kennedy or whoever else.

Or they got access to other things to go to Skywalker Ranch, or they got access to go to Premiere, or whatever else.

i was one of you remember this i was one of the few people that said that like look i don't think andor is that good i think andor is not a great thing for star wars even though it's a well put together show but it's not a it's not a show that wants to be star wars i said that and i got ridiculed for it because i dared to be honest with the audience and be up front with them about something based on my years of experience of covering star wars and being a fan of it for so long since i was a child And I think the problem is, though, is that there's a real lack of backbone for some people in order to be honest, but also not afraid to be against the grain when it calls for it.

Because let's be real.

Like I said, the Acolyte is a perfect example of this where it was not a good show.

And there was a lot of people trying to kind of gaslight and trick people into thinking it was a good show.

And the execution is horrible.

Somebody was comparing it to the Acolyte.

And he's not wrong.

It's just not as funny.

Well, there's intention and then there's execution.

Yeah.Well, I have to give a shout-out to my good buddy East Side Dave McDonald, who has attempted to give The Acolyte a re-watch.

I propose we do a re-watch with him.

If I go back and I think about The Acolyte, people were saying that that was an incredibly popular show as well because there was so much online discourse.

Yeah, they were using online metrics.

But what was the online discourse, though? It was all negative.

It was all making fun of, of The Acolyte.

Even Elon Musk made fun of The Acolyte because it was such a ridiculous show.

So even though I don't put together a Twin Suns deck that has to be thematically accurate, I do appreciate when they do a good job or seeing the new art and the new characters or the stuff for the characters that I like.

I have a visceral hatred of Acolyte.

There are a few things that I hate as much as Acolyte.

I get especially vindictive with my hate when my true hatred of things, especially like movies and TV shows, comes out when I want something to be really good or I think it's an excellent idea.

In Glorious Bastards, the movie is like this for me too.

Yeah.

Because when something has such promise and whoever creates it does not create the thing that the promise was made for, the Acolyte was such a great idea.
