I know they've got a big following, but again, not anywhere near as big as in the UK I imagine, where they could do pretty much anything they want and they'd [laughs] sell out stadiums.

Um, there are some that, you know, The 1975 I feel like are bigger in, in, in America as well.

So it's not like you can't get big acts.

Fontaines DC, um, they feel like they're breaking into America.

matty healy has declared the 1975's next album is nearly done the chocolate singer revealed earlier this year the group were working on the follow-up to 2020 to being funny in a foreign language and he's now offered a promising update to fans in a surprise video message Mattie and his dad, Tim Healy, appeared on the big screens at an event in North Shields on Friday, 25 September, 26, for Sunday for Sammy, a charity in the northeast of which the singer is a patron.

Thanking those in attendance for the fundraiser, which featured a performance from Tribute Act the 9075, Mattie said, I'm trying to finish this album, I don't know if I'm ever gonna do it, but I've nearly finished it.

Yeah, it's nearly done.

Mattie's TV star mother, Denise Welsh, previously revealed she had heard the new material her son's band has been working on during their downtime from the road.

She was quoted by the Daily Star as saying at the Virgin Atlantic Attitude Awards in October, It's fabulous.

It's very different, but it's got the DNA of the 1975, I think you'll love it.

Matty also confirmed the existence of two albums, one of which is called Dogs.

Pivotal.

Let's Go Out Tonight, to me, is one of the most beautiful... records ever singles ever made I love his stuff I've got his solo things but also frankly gotta be careful here but a shout out to Matty Healy I fell into the 1975 you know what do you call it that YouTube thing and they did a beautiful concert at Madison Square Garden and stuff And, you know, I knew of the 1975, but I didn't.

I mean, they've been around 25, 20 years or so.

If The 1975 hasn't released a song, how about 87 songs? It's too many.

They're not that good.

They got five number one albums.

Uh, Biffy Clyro is my all-time favorite band.

You know, and that's a whole other genre.

But, um, I am guilty.

I do love The 1975, so none of my nuance matters.

Someone else may know that band.

Put this on and instantly thought, "My God, this is an absolute fucking banging song." And not that removed, I would say, from something like The 1975 and some of their earlier stuff.

I just thought, I'm taking a bit of a punt here 'cause I don't know that song this well, but I listened to it a few times and I just...

I know someone else in this band who's gonna enjoy this I think, and it's my boy Ryan.

It, it fills its spectrum.

It's a, it's a beautiful groove, and I was all over it.

Did, did remind me of The 1975.

Reminded me of Churches, who are also, you know, big, gooey, bouncy pop.
