Before Roland Emmerich, the director, signed on to direct, the directors that were considered were Tony Scott, Steven Spielberg, Wolfgang Peterson, Joe Johnston, Ridley Scott, who turned this down in favor of Gladiator, which was the number three movie like we talked about this year, Oliver Stone, Rennie Harlan, and John McTiernan, who turned it down in favor of The 13th Warrior.

And then the final one was Brian De Palma.

So they went through quite a few people to get.

I mean, think about that movie, The 13th Warrior.

And, you know, that was based off of Eaters of the Dead by Michael Crichton, which was basically the Beowulf story.

And, you know, for those who don't know the basic story of it, there was a creature called Grendel.

And Grendel was this hairy beast.

And I'm mixing here the saga versus the 13th warrior, but basically Grendel was terrorizing this village.

And this warrior had to go.

I'm very familiar with this film because this came out around the same time.

And there was a couple of other movies that were kind of that vague kind of wannabe Conan the Barbarian kind of looking type shit, you know, and this was one of them.

Okay, I'm holding my hands up because I have to shout out this movie because it's a not well-known horse movie, and it's my absolute favorite horse movie.

My favorite horse movie is The 13th Warrior with Antonio Banderas, where he takes his Arabian horse north to fight with the Vikings.

The best scene in the whole movie is he's on his little Arabian and all these giant Norsemen are on these big draft horses, and the one mean Viking guy looks down at him, and in his, like, Norse accent he says, "Only an Arab would bring a dog to war." And Antonio Banderas gives him, like, this look, and he turns and he wheels his horse, and he jumps over the dude on his draft horse with his little Arabian horse.

It is so cool.

He gets sent to be an envoy with Vikings, basically.

And then he becomes the 13th warrior in this group of Vikings that has to go deal with this issue, with this cult-like...
