And every once in a while I'll hear something that, oh, that, that's a good story.

I was standing talking to a brand inspector at the Cattle Raisers' Association one day.

A lady walked up to him and she said, "Eddie, uh, how's that young grandson?" He said, "Oh, he's a dandy." She said, "Is he talking yet?" And he said, "No, and I know that the first word he's gonna say is 'mama' and 'daddy,' but I'm gonna make sure that the first full sentence he makes is, 'I did it 'cause my pawpaw said I could.'" I couldn't get away from Eddie.

I saw the whole movie, so I had to go write it down.

Teri Stuart Forst of the 7S Stewart Ranch near Waurika, Oklahoma, has been selected to receive the National Golden Spur Award for her contributions to the ranching and livestock industry.

The award is presented annually through a joint effort of six state and national ranching and livestock organizations, the American Quarter Horse Association, the National Cattlemen's Foundation, the Ranching Heritage Association, the Texas Cattle Feeders Association, Texas Farm Bureau, and the Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association.

That award will be presented on Saturday, October 10th, at the National Golden Spur Award Honors in Lubbock.

Some Texas High Plains farmers are thinking of switching from row crops to grass.

They see that as manipulating the market.

Over the past few days, the Trump administration has received lots of letters and calls from individual ranchers as well as organizations like the Texas Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association, the American Farm Bureau.

Cooper Little is the executive director of the Independent Cattlemen's Association of Texas.

And he kind of tells his story of like starting an ATB and like what his career turned into from there.

Um, but he encourages you in the book, kind of what you were just talking about with knowing your own values and mission statement is to have your own personal board of directors.

um and i i love that and that's something i think of often like we hear board of directors right like all of almost all of our organizations have them but what about your own personal board of directors like who are the people you surround yourself with who you can talk to and who you can really go to and talk to, you know, personally, professionally, having those deep career talks or problem solving or just, you know, meeting up the minds and brainstorming and like getting people together to work together and see what you can accomplish.

And so having your own personal board of directors is something that has always stuck with me.

And then the second book or the principle from that book specifically, it's from good to great.

And one of the things that really sticks with me from that book is being able in a team setting, you know, and I can apply that both to my work and to my volunteer work, but surround yourself with the right people first, like the people who do have values aligned with you, goals aligned with you, they're working for the same mission and then find the right seat on the bus for them.

Um, and I, I, I think both of those principles are, are really important, whether I'm Again, both in your career or you can apply a lot of those to your personal, you know, volunteer type life as well.

That was so good.
