Teutonic Order

Like maybe even like the Knights Templar.

I take a lot of inspiration from the Knights Templar, the Hospitallers, the Teutonic Knights, those sorts of organizations that start.

I don't know if you're aware, like the Knights Templar started with like six guys.

I didn't know that.

I named myself after Charles Martel.

Charles Martel, the Battle of the Tours, extremely important battle of Western history where he's fighting back the Muslim invasion all the way up into France.

huge huge fight but he was you know allied he had danish pagans with them and uh you have interesting all kinds of situations like this you had teutonic knights which are uh basically crusader christian warrior monks they were siding with pagans in their own little inner feuds with you know like that it's a polish area and they these people have found ways to worked together over the years.

At the time of the Reformation, this commander was the heroic Walter of Plattenburg, who, on the secularization of the Order in Prussia, separated from Prussia, and in spite of the inroads of Protestantism into his territory, remained loyal to the old faith.

Over the Russians he won a brilliant victory at Orsha in 1514.

Simeon of Susdal, the representative of the Knyaz of Tver, and some other members of the delegation, fled from Italy to carry word home as soon as they were able.

Isidore took the long way home, with multiple stops to visit his new territories and issue instructions to the Poles, Lithuanians, and Teutonic Knights.

He may well have been worried what reception he would get when he reached Orthodox territory.

Isidore reached Moscow on 19 March 1441.
