And if you're making edibles specifically, there's one more thing to care about that most buyers never even think about.

I think he... rode that line a bit because he liked myself and many others as a heavy user and ended up being like almost exclusively dabber in the end um THCV is one that just doesn't have a ceiling you know like when you can smoke OG Kush all day and it's only going to get you like 8 out of 10 high or like a 5 out of 10 high because you've just been smoking it for decades and it's just your endocannabinoid system is just like you're used to it I know a guy locally who's been growing it for the same exact cut for like 10 plus years of it and he just like He's like, I barely ever smoke it anymore because I'm so used to the effect that it almost feels like nothing.

But a lot of people praise it.

I've smoked this stuff and it's actually pretty good.

Researchers believe part of the explanation may involve the endocannabinoid system, which plays an important role in regulating things like appetite, metabolism, and energy balance.

The cannabis industry has already been interested in compounds that might influence appetite and metabolism, One example is THCV, tetrahydrocannabivirin.

A cannabinoid that has been associated with reduced appetite and increased stimulation.

Some companies have even marketed THCV products as a kind of diet weed.

The researchers are not saying that smoking marijuana will make people lose weight, and they're definitely not saying cannabis can currently be used to treat obesity or diabetes.

So it got me thinking about this as well, and there's actually a few other reasons for that too, but we'll get into that.

Today we're talking about the minor cannabinoids that everyone's suddenly marketing at you, the CBG, CBN, CBC, and THCV.

And you've probably seen at least one of those letters on a label and wondered if it actually does anything or if it's just a sticker slapped on to justify a higher price tag.

May 1 and colleagues found that CBC blocked pain associated with osteoarthritis in mice.

More recently, a 2023 study looked at CBC alongside THCV and CBN together in human macrophage cells, the immune cells responsible for a lot of your body's inflammatory response, and found anti-inflammatory effects across all three.

That one is useful because it's not just CBC in isolation, it's minor cannabinoids working in combination, which is closer to how you'd actually encounter them in your flour or perhaps in an edible.

without getting into some deeper data that definitely seem to be expressed more.

And we've also noticed an increase in expression of CBD as well as THCV.

There's some methodologies that I've developed working with a group in Colorado on an increasing THCV expression using aquaponics to amplify particular stressors on the plant, stress responses on the plant that are kind of hard to do without that type of organic environment.

and noticed incredible increases in pretty rare terpenes and cannabinoids as well.

And I know that there was a group from Green Relief Incorporated at the last Aquaponics Association conference that had a whole presentation on DWC only, media bed only, and dual root zone, and showing the terpene comparisons and the cannabinoid comparisons.
