Teton Wilderness

Uh, my, my family really wasn't outdoorsy much, but I just really was at a young age, I was just attracted to being in the backcountry.

Um, early on when I was, like, 14 or 15, I got a job at a, at a scout camp, ki- kinda funny, way up in the Teton Wilderness, and, uh, worked in that zone all through high school, um, and got into big rock climbing.

I almost became a professional rock climber.

So I, I spent a lot of time in the backcountry and in the mountains.

Never.

And, uh, then I met my wife.

The, the cool thing is about with my wife is she and her, or her dad was running a dude ranch, and her dad is a, was a hunting outfitter up in the Teton Wilderness.

Um, and when I met her, we were kinda like crossing paths ever since I was little.

To an outfitter, well, it's a trailhead.

From that exact spot, the country opens up into the Teton Wilderness and the thoroughfare, some of the most remote, least traveled backcountry left anywhere in the lower 48.

And if you pull back and look at the map, that terrain doesn't just lead nowhere.

It points more or less back toward the country where Mike Bollinger grew up, where he still had deep family roots, Montana.
