The state of Wyoming is about to add a new requirement for driving over Teton Pass.

The Wyoming Department of Transportation is developing something called the WY 22 Safe Pass Program, which could launch as soon as October.

Teton Pass will soon close to all vehicles weighing more than 10,000 pounds or pulling trailers.

That's unless those larger trucks and RVs pass an online safety test from the state.

KHOL's Abner Robinson-Johnson reports the fine will be steep.

That's despite Trump's proclamation prohibiting claims there until September 11th.

The Wyoming Department of Transportation says it will install signs next Monday through Wednesday to make Teton Pass safer.

It's also reviewing about 50 signs from the state line to Wilson, informing drivers of steep grades and to use low gear.

The signs have been in manufacturing for weeks, Wyandotte says.
