A billionaire posted his own sperm count on the Internet and half a million men started copying the protocol.

That same month, the Department of Defense announced it will test every service member over 30 for low testosterone.

Oh, I've been dying to talk about this.

Nobody involved seems to have noticed these two projects work against each other.

Right.

And so that leads into the Department of Defense.

They're screening all personnel 30 and older for testosterone deficiency with voluntary hormone therapy offered to anyone testing low.

It follows an FDA move last month to strip safety and effectiveness language from testosterone labeling and loosen prescribing limits.

... you know, providers and clinicians that are trying to amplify this message, do you think in the next five, 10 years we're going to see an FDA-approved form of testosterone specific to women? Because right now it needs to be compounded, or I have some colleagues that are doing those AndroGel packs, but that's-

... really challenging to work with 'cause they're teeny, tiny little doses.

Yeah, men are getting weaker.

Testosterones dropping.

Yeah, people are having less babies.

Yeah, fertility issues, mental health issues.

And how do you measure that? And who stands to profit from it? Right.

Like is the study going to be funded when the answer is nebulous and who's going to make money off of it? So yeah, Testosterone also has significant side effects.

And I've had some patients who we try it out and the hair starts falling out of their scalp or they start growing chin hair or body hair.

you know, it can cause error at high doses.

You're able to push the levels up better when you take absorption out of the picture.

Um, it's very normal for men to inject testosterone 'cause they actually need like...

If you look at an AndroGel product, it's actually a decent amount of product, and it doesn't push a lot of men very high.

And injectables are cheap, again, for men, 'cause men have FDA-approved testosterone doses.

So effective is the wrong word.

So it was only 1.6%?

1.62% AndroGel, yeah.

Do you know what my standard, uh, female testosterone cream is?

So I would definitely personally use testosterone.

Um, there's different formulations of it.

A common one that we use in fertility clinics is AndroGel, which is like a topical gel that you put on your arm, um, and in combination with estrogen.

And then you would go ahead and start your stim a week later.

You'll probably bleed through it.

... four months, and I tried that for four months and my levels, um, decreased, so I wasn't absorbing it.

This time I was prescribed a Testogel, and luckily enough, um, I've started to have, I'm absorbing some of it.
