and here's the deal.

And here's like, I know like in a business professional setting, that's like TMI, right? Like, but I want to be like transparent and honest as much.

I mean, there's details I'm not going to share, but there's a couple of things I can share because I want you to know that like, I think people, people forget what the reality of like how it was when I got, when I got out of the hospital, I had to use a Walker super.

And our friend Linda, who's actually has just, I think just gotten out of the hospital with similar situation.

Right.

Like, um, And I was actually, as I'm grabbing the walker, I'm thinking of like, okay, if she could do it, I could do it.

How did you, like when you say you got recruited, how did you get recruited?

Yeah, so I was volunteering.

Let me start earlier.

I was running a nonprofit, which was one of my 18 jobs.

I started a nonprofit and I was growing it.

And we'd hold events.

And to promote these events, I would produce these viral videos.

stuff.

Hmm.

And in retrospect, I've realized that that is how powerful stories are.

They can completely transport you and take you away.

And really, the storyline came from my time in the military.

So the storyline for the Beast of Trinity, Texas, came from serving out in the Middle East and being in that war zone.

Um, you were absolutely right.

This movie took over 200 people to, to make.

And you start getting to the outer reaches and it's like, who is this? Do we know each other? You're asking for some big favors here.

I don't know why it's like that.

Yeah, I think that's a massive question, right? We're getting into like human nature.

When men begin to develop Um, they think about doing things on their own, just naturally, right? They're ready to leave home.

They're ready to tackle the world that happens for all of us.

And then we have a prideful father, right? Most, most fathers are prideful.

I raised my son.

I gave, I fed him.

And why do you think that's the case?

So we actually did book another stay because I had a sabbatical scheduled for January and we were already going to be done at the beach for a couple of weeks.

I was like, let's stay in a Saratoga in the Treehouse Villas, which I think is one of my one of my other favorite spots ever.

if you're trying to be low-key and if you have a car.

We did one day, I knew physically, like I was still not, I mean, you came to see me.

You were one of the few people that came to see me in the hospital several times.

Yeah.

I always ask every single guest, Terry, what is the most impactful moment in your life that really just changed everything for the future?

I've been thinking about this one.

It's one of those podcast guest questions.

So it's weird because you think of like, I think it's a seasonal question, right? Like there are seasons of like, for me spiritually, when I decided to follow Jesus.

For me, when I married my wife.

But specifically for our context, I'm thinking about in 2014, I did an event in LA with a business partner.

Who did not see my value, who did not understand.

well, okay.

But for the audience, would you kind of give an overview of the movie, uh, The Beast of Trinity Texas?

Yeah, so it is a traditional detective genre movie, uh, small town Texas.

We actually filmed in Trinity, Texas, and I can kind of elaborate on how the story came about, because it's a fascinating tell.

But small town sheriff, he's battling with, um-Being a sheriff for a long time, he served in the military, and he's just kinda coasting things out into retirement.

And then there's a murder in, in this small town.

And, uh, there's an investigation that takes place and, and a person shows up on scene from the federal government, and they start to investigate and, and they start to say, "Well, there's, there's sightings of a beast here." And of course, he doesn't believe it.

So he starts his own investigation, and as he's, uh, wrestling through these, these demons that he has, he uncovers more and more evidence to the point where it's, you know, it's undeniable that there is something out there haunting this small town of Trinity.

Going back to that lady you interviewed, what did she tell you?
