Let's get back to my interview with singer, banjo player, fiddler, and songwriter Rhiannon Giddens.

Yeah, I, you know, as a former State Department, you know, frontline guy, my transition was from the UN Security Council in New York at our mission there, working Iraq sanctions, but also working the Al Qaeda committee.

And, you know, you can link people to maybe an interview I did with Terry Gross.

She gets into this too, but...

You know, it was literally, you know, before the grit and danger of showing up in Baghdad and then Fallujah, right? So my traditional career started out, you know...

And, and then we did Color Purple together, you know? Like, it was just so, it's just so many, like, full circle, beautiful moments that we've been able to share.

She co-stars in the new film, If I Go, Will They Miss Me? Brooks first became known as Taystee on Orange Is the New Black.

Jones also wrote an autobiography called Chuck Amuck!.

That title is borrowed from Duck Amuck, which was the cartoon Jones made about cartooning.

What I was trying to do was to develop the characters that I understood and to have fun doing it.

And that's wh- that was the whole secret of Warner Brothers cartoons, is a, a bunch of people happened to come together from varied walks of life, all of whom were enormously interested in, in, in making films that were fun to do.
